Anna May Wong (1905 - 1961) a talented actress active during the early 20th Century. She was the first Chinese-American Hollywood movie star, gained international recognition, and was a fashion icon in the 1920's. Starred in silent films, talkies, television shows, and radio programs. Sadly, she was regularly type-cast as either Dragon Ladies or Madame Butterly characters, much to her frustration (sympathetic asian characters were always played by white actors in yellow-face, back in the day).
