Night Stalker

Nocturnovenator canadiensis - an agile predatory mammal, similar in shape and locomotion to a large chimpanzee, but with claws and jaws more equivalent to a feline or oversized bat. Capable of swinging through trees, but it can also run pretty well on all fours. I imagine it to mainly dwell in temperate mountain forests such as those from my hometown.

I invented this creature in my early teens. Visibly based it on Primeval's Future Predator and Dixon's Nightstalker, but probably originally inspired by a Haudenosaunee story about hunting dogs who save their master from an unidentified tree-leaping monster.
