Hal-Kaluutanei

Halkaluutanei - cattle herder, gend. nt. (literal "one who cattles" with cattle in this case being a stand in for "domesticated ornithopod").

In an alternate world where various non-avian dinosaurs persisted into the Eocene, the Vita-Rha peoples started out as nomadic hunters but then some tribes took to herding and keeping beasts as chattel. The nations of Africa, India, and Eurasia took to domesticating ornithopods for food and labor, while the Americas and Australia predominantly used a mammal species.

Loosely inspired by photographs of "Vaqueros" in a Natgeo issue. Visually based on oil paintings I did in 2018-2019.
